Back in DC

I'm at Dulles airport. It's early morning and it was surreal to drive to LAX in my car and leave it there whilst I go to DC for a few days... Every now and then I actually appreciate that I'm moving and it scares the crap out of me... It's not scary in that I think that anything bad could happen but just intimidating. There's so much unknown stuff ahead and I think about how much easier and how much less stressful it would be to just stay here. That's part of why I drove the car across, now either I have to bring it back or move myself to it which makes the hassle and stress of not moving much more in balance with that of moving... Anyway it's happening.
3400+ miles of driving last week (and no tickets!!).
After Austin which I really enjoyed (went to a local bar and saw a couple of bands playing) there was a thousand mile day to Phoenix and then a mere 400 to Las Vegas where I spent a night at an old friend's house and a night at Treasure Island. Didn't have time to eat anywhere fancy but had a good locals breakfast at a place called the cracked egg. Vegas turned out well this time around, I saw my first $1000 chip (won it, didn't change cash for it ;0) and left town a winner.
So I'm here until thurs (or maybe fri) and then back west to look for a new abode. Back in DC by halloween.
